Jimmy Parvin wins the Peter Taylor Memorial Road Race

An animated race from the start saw several strong early attacks brought to heel. Jimmy & Matt had stayed attentive near the front and contributed to ensure no threats escaped up the road.

The bunch had been forced to work hard by lap 2 when a single rider clipped off the front. A shout from Matt of: “go if you can!” saw Jimmy bridge to form a break of 2. The gap was held tight by the bunch for a lap before drifting to over a minute.

Working well together the duo held the gap but jimmy sensed his fellow escapee was tiring. Holding a strong pace up the penultimate climb to the finish saw Jimmy distance the other rider as he embarked on the final lap solo against the bunch.

As more of the circuit passed by without the catch being made Jimmy began to believe he might hold enough advantage to survive the final ascent. Numerous nervous glances revealed the bunch had left it too late and he took his maiden 2/3/4 victory unchallenged at the line!
